India's steel industry, at one table in Chhattisgarh.
The All India Steel Conclave returns for its third edition with a renewed vision, bringing India's steel industry together at the intersection of ideas, innovation and leadership. Over two days in Nava Raipur, industry leaders, steel producers, traders, policymakers and key stakeholders will exchange perspectives, build partnerships and explore the opportunities shaping the future of Indian steel.
Conference theme
“What's Next in Steel: India's Emerging Shift”
India's steel industry is entering a new era, marked by changing demand, technology-led transformation, global integration and a sharper focus on efficiency and sustainability.
Questions on the table
- 01
What will the next decade of Indian steel look like?
- 02
Which technologies and products will shape its competitiveness?
- 03
Where will the next wave of growth and investment emerge?
Six transitions that will decide what comes next.
Technology & the plant journey
A dedicated technical track walks through the steel plant, from beneficiation and pelletisation to melting, refining, casting, rolling and the digital plant.
Raw-material security
Iron ore grades, coking and thermal coal, scrap, metallics and India's DRI growth story, and the policy, auctions and contracts that secure them.
Value addition & exports
Moving from commodity to capability: value-added grades, import substitution, narrow strip, structures, PEB, pipes and tubes.
Carbon, cost & competitiveness
CCTS, CBAM exposure, hydrogen-ready DRI and the low-carbon levers that protect coal-based steelmaking's competitiveness.
Investment & the 300 MT journey
Macro outlook to 2030, supply–demand balance, logistics for 300 million tonnes and the bets CXOs are making.
The Chhattisgarh advantage
India's second-largest steel-producing state, its mineral endowment, power advantage and roadmap from raw-material base to value-added hub.
Growth is reshaping the steelmaking landscape.
India's steel industry is entering its next phase of growth. Capacity is moving toward 300 mnt by FY'30, but the bigger shift is structural: in steelmaking routes, raw-material needs, regional growth and the move toward higher-value, more competitive production. With crude steel capacity at about 233 mnt in FY'26 and projected to reach about 298 mnt by FY'30, the focus is shifting from capacity addition alone to utilisation, competitiveness and demand creation.
